After Hours Request
Afterhours is defined as any time the Plant Engineering team is not on site. Patient Care requests during this time should be routed through the Nurse (House) Supervisor to determine if an On Call technician will be called. The House/Nurse Supervisor will coordinate with the Switchboard Operator to contact the On Call Plant Engineering technician. The House/Nurse Supervisor should always be notified regarding EMERGENCIES (Fire, Flood or Entrapment) during afterhours operation.
Plant Engineering is seeing an increase in off-hours maintenance support calls not being communicated thru the House/Nurse Supervisor. All maintenance work requests must be communicated to the House/Nurse Supervisor between the following time frames.
Haymarket Medical Center (House Supervisor 521-284-4400)
Monday – Friday 3:30pm – 7:00am
Saturday - All Day
Sunday - All Day
Prince William Medical Center (House Supervisor 703-369-8359 OR 703-369-6095)

Monday – Friday 4:30pm – 7:00am

The House/Nurse Supervisor determines if the work request requires emergency maintenance support. All routine work request will be scheduled accordingly the next business day by placing a Plant Engineering work order request. The Nurse Supervisor must tell unit calling for emergency services to create a Plant Engineering work order.
