This webpage is designed to capture and promote integration successes and updates as we work to build unity across UVA Health. Updates will be published quarterly. This edition contains updates on our benefits, culture integration, interim payroll system, HR platform, ACO program, name change, and medical group. Team Member UpdatesChanges that impact UVA Community Health team members Enhanced benefits package receives enthusiastic responseAll UVA Community Health team members now have standardized comprehensive benefits. This change was met with a positive response from team members, who expressed enthusiasm for the greater flexibility and choices available through the new package. Culture integration outreach activities to begin soonOrganizational culture is the way an organization “does things” – it’s the norms, beliefs, and behaviors of all who make up that organization. We recognize that it’s critical to align the culture of UVA Health and UVA Community Health to support our future success as a unified health system. We’re committed to taking the time to listen to the valued voices of team members as we continue to build a common culture. To achieve this goal, we are planning a variety of outreach activities to gather feedback from individuals across the organization. The feedback will inform our approach to integrating UVA Health and UVA Community Health. Stay tuned for updates as we discover more about shared values across the organization! New payroll system now serving Community Health team membersUVA Community Health successfully transitioned to an interim payroll system, Meditech, on December 19, 2021 and used it to distribute paychecks to Community Health team members on January 7, 2022. While no major issues were reported, a small number of glitches impacted a limited group of team members. The issues were resolved immediately, thanks to the collaborative efforts of the Human Resource (HR), Payroll, and Information Technology (IT) teams. This was a difficult project, with high visibility and impact to team members, so we offer a special “THANK YOU” to everyone involved for their diligence and leadership. Hospital Operations UpdatesChanges that impact how the business is run
Self-service HR platform coming later this year for UVA CH team membersThe UVA Community Health HR and IT teams are working together to implement Oracle, a platform for managing team member data. The new system will allow team members to make changes to their personal information. By reducing the amount of time the HR team spends doing data collection and maintenance, the new system will free them up to focus more on delivering value-added services, such as career planning, training and development, and team member engagement. More information will be coming soon. Community Health will maintain management of existing MSSP ACO programThroughout the transition period, UVA Community Health will maintain its current Accountable Care Organization (ACO) affiliation. At the end of 2021, we fully transitioned management of these operations away from Novant Health. This change allows us to continue to provide high-quality coordinated care to Medicare patients, while managing the growing cost of healthcare. Name change to UVA Health complete and re-branding activities underwayOn October 1, 2021, UVA Community Health completed the Doing Business As (DBA) name change. The change allows UVA Community Health to operate under UVA Health’s naming conventions across the system. This milestone marked a big step in creating a new, united organizational identity that will be used in communicating with patients and other stakeholders. Coming next is the legal name change, which is expected to be finalized on March 1, 2022. Rebranding activities have begun and will continue to roll out throughout 2022 to provide a standard look and logo on our signage, fleet, uniforms, badges, business cards, intranet pages, and other items. UVA Community Health Medical Group updateThe UVA Community Health Medical Group will remain an independent operation within UVA Health. This means that the Community Health clinics will operate under the UVA Health brand while continuing to align with the clinical and operational processes and procedures at the Community Health acute care facilities.
