Benefits Eligibility 
Retirement
All team members are eligible to participate in the UVA Community Health retirement plan with Fidelity.  Employer match begins on the first pay period after the completion of one year of service. UVA Community Health matches up to 6% of the team member's contributions while maintaining compliance with IRS limits and regulations.  Team members must be contributing to receive the employer match.  Team members are vested in the employer match after the completion of three years of service of 1,000 hours or more per calendar year.

Insurance
All full‐time employee working at least 30 hours per week and effective January 1, 2023, part‐time employees working at least 20 hours per week are eligible for benefits at a slightly higher premium.  Premiums are withheld from all biweekly paychecks; any missed premiums will be withheld after a period of absence or if the net pay does not cover premiums.

Qualified covered dependents:

  • Legal spouse who is:
    • Unemployed, self‐employed, covered by Medicare or an individual health insurance policy, not eligible for insurance benefits with their current employer, which includes UVA Community Health.
  • Children up to age 26
  • Incapacitated unmarried children of any age
